Rival fans clashed in Utrecht’s city centre ahead of Thursday’s Europa League meeting between Utrecht and Lyon.
The violence took place around the Neude square, where objects were thrown and minor scuffles broke out.
Police moved in quickly, using batons to disperse the groups.
At least one person was reported injured.
