Groups of Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb hooligans clashed in a pre-arranged fight ahead of their league match at the Poljud Stadium on Saturday.
The two groups met in a street in the Pujanke area of Split at around 9am, with Hajduk hooligans far outnumbering their rivals.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and more than 100 people were arrested.
Four people were reportedly injured, including two seriously.
