Cruzeiro and Fluminense fans clashed in the stands at the Mineirao stadium ahead of their Brazilian Cup tie on Tuesday.
Punches were thrown and seats hurled between supporters of both clubs, while a handful of stewards attempted to separate them.
Military police then stepped in and used pepper spray and batons to restore order.
