Esperance fans clashed with police at the Rades Stadium at half-time of their CAF Champions League quarter-final against Algeria’s JS Kabylie on Saturday, causing a 40-minute delay to the second half.
The trouble occurred behind one of the goals.
Esperance fans threw plastic seats and other objects at police who responded with tear gas. Then the fans broke fences and started a fire in front of the stands.
At least 66 people were arrested, including 12 minors.
On the pitch, Esperance defeated JS Kabylie 2-1 on aggregate and will face Egypt’s Al-Ahly in the semi-final.
