Chaos at Toumba Stadium as angry PAOK fans riot

PAOK’s Greek Cup semi-final against Olympiacos was abandoned on Wednesday as home fans clashed with riot police on the pitch.

Trouble broke out at the end of the match when PAOK were denied a clear penalty with the visitors leading 2-1.

The referee’s decision sparked outrage from PAOK fans. Angry home fans stormed the Toumba Stadium pitch and clashed with riot police, throwing flares, bottles and basically anything they could get their hands on.

Riot police fired tear gas to disperse the pitch invaders and the match was called off in the 90th minute.
