Hallescher fans caused chaos after their Regionalliga Nordost clash against Chemie Leipzig at the Leuna Chemie Stadium on Friday, which ended in a goalless draw.
Tensions were high throughout the match, with fans setting off flares and smoke bombs. The situation escalated at the final whistle when Hallescher fans made their way down into the area between the stands and the pitch before running towards the Chemie end to confront the rival support.
Stewards and riot police intervened swiftly and prevented them from reaching the away end.
Some fans then stormed the pitch, chasing Chemie players towards the tunnel, before riot police sprinted onto the pitch to restore order.
At least three people were injured, with one requiring hospital treatment.
The draw saw Hallescher drop their first points of the season, while Chemie Leipzig earned their first point in the league.
