Genoa ultras attacked a group of Deportivo La Coruna fans in the historic centre of Genova on Friday night, one day before the two sides’ match in a friendly tournament.
Around 30 Genoa ultras, wearing helmets and armed with bars, took part in the attack.
Footage from the incident shows the Genoa ultras chasing the Deportivo fans through the streets. At one point, one Deportivo fan can be seen being hit with bars before raising his arms in an apparent attempt to surrender, after which the attack stopped.
The confrontation was reportedly sparked after Deportivo fans were seen displaying their club colours in an area regarded as Genoa territory.
