PAOK’s Greek Cup semi-final against Olympiacos at the Toumba Stadium was abandoned on Wednesday after home fans clashed with riot police on the pitch.
Trouble broke out at the end of the match when PAOK were denied what appeared to be a clear penalty with the visitors leading 2-1.
The referee’s decision sparked fury among PAOK fans, who began throwing flares onto the pitch.
Furious PAOK fans then stormed the pitch and clashed with riot police, throwing flares, bottles and basically anything they could get their hands on.
Riot police used tear gas to disperse the rioting fans, and the match was abandoned in the 90th minute.
